The Austrian ELIA (www.elia-project.eu) workshop for VET teachers and school social workers took place from the 10 – 11 Mai 2012 in Mitterberg, AT.
The workshop was lead by Richard Majors (partner Wolverhampton) and David Read. The workshop combined theory, examples and methods with practical exercises that help teachers and school social workers to find better ways to cope with challanging young students.
The workshop was highly apprechiated, especially since the identified issues of the teachers were taken into account. Especially the connection to their daily practice allowed the participants to integrate the methods into their work. Within the next three months, the participants are receiving coaching from the partners to insure a sustainable integration of the methods.
Comment from one of the participants: “I really liked the workshop! I have learned a lot from the methods and theories – for profession as well as for me as a person”.
The second pilot workshop will be held in Graz from 30 – 31 August. Interested teachers are asked to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
