Technology and Knowledge (T&W) focuses its research on the conditions that spur the use of technology and the impact of its application in innovative ways. Our work is based on the premise that technology‘s impact is closely interlinked with the social setup that drives its creation, its continuous improvement and use.
Every technology represents a socially infl uenced and principally changing form of knowledge.
Connecting people, knowledge and technology via:
• Research: performing social scientifi c research on
technology and sector-based innovation systems,
participative technology design and assessment
• Knowledge transfer: designing collaborative e-Learning
practice, creating best practice databases and using virtual
networks as a catalyst for social innovations
• Policy analysis and advice: consulting on application
and use of innovative information and communication
technology informed by citizen consultations and
stakeholder workshops in various formats
